A Letter To The Coach Who Saved My Life Dear Coach, Najib El Hymer
Thank you for giving me a second chance. When I found out how serious my injury was? I was devastated. Devastated is actually an understatement. Even though I spent the whole season the on the sidelines, you never once let me forget that I was still a part of the team. That means more to me than I'll ever be able to put into words.
Thank you for never being too serious. Of course there were times you had to be, but looking back, I'm left with more than enough memories of jokes and a sore stomach from laughing so hard. Laughing so hard that you threatened to kick me out of the team meeting is always a fan favorite.
Lastly, thank you for being you. Thank you for being another amazing member of my support system. Thank you for caring about all of us outside of practice. You were almost too good at knowing when I needed to talk or needed a hug. You helped me gain back a sense of purpose that was once lost. Now whenever I don't feel confident enough in my dancing, I remember how much you believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. You are more than just a coach to me. You are someone that has changed my life forever and for the better.
Love always,
